Description:
The remix project hatched after an amazing Hrvatski /Salvo Beta show at the Empty Bottle, Chicago. The two sat down and talked music for a forthcoming issue of Tape Op, and the idea for remixes oozed from the chatter. Soon Chicago's electronic scenesters were corralled to throw down, as well as laptop stars like Jake Mandell, Sutekh, Safety Scissors and Twine. To cap off the roll-call Melt-Banana got in the ring, having declared SB one of their U.S. faves, and trekked their legion of distorted guitars into the studio to put down the fresh godzilla tracks early this May. Among Chicago's talent, Atropa incorporates Fender Rhodes melodies and his own live drum beats into his work; String Theory utilizes layered drones and downtempo beats to construct a gorgeously languid track. From beyond Chicago, Berlin-dweller Jake Mandell works a gear-shifting, post-industrial vibe that you can mostly dance to; Sutekh creates a two-step in the upper bpm's, and Safety Scissors smoothes out his contribution with a stunning vocal about being stuck in traffic. Adding more live-instrument "indie-rock" are to the roster is Pele, whose members have been known to experiment with beats and loops with their side project Magic Arrows, and Someoddpilot founders The Timeout Drawer, who recorded their explosive live rock rendition in the studio at SOP HQ. All in all a truly diverse and energetic collection of work, and all of it bouncing up and down on little Sean's head.

"Most idm fans are in favour of remix albums, so if you are, you should really be into this. for the insane hrvatski remix alone people should be all over this. nice job all around. full of bounce, crunch and devastating noisy beats to satiate the most discerning electronic listener."
