K-rad live, eat, breathe and smoke music. The three members, Joe, Chris and Mark, share the same air in an apartment they call Pad K-rad, a not-too-clean leaky-roof joint on Chicago's North Side. There are over 100 cinder blocks in the 4th floor apartment serving as makeshift shelving for their immeasurable amount of gear and records - a spectacle as perplexing and intimidating as the 8th grade. Separate rooms serve as private sub-studios, where each can sequence, sleep and get up and work. Connecting the disparate nooks are a couple hundred feet of ethernet cable, spliced into hubs, allowing for a complete file sharing experience. When final tracks need to be laid, a record-enabled computer strapped on to a radio flyer wagon is wheeled in and out.

K-rad are the illimitable and masticatory machine of high-lo-fi electronic music. Their video-game/late-night re-run/news-room hiphop-inspired beat driven electronics are both fun and memorable and cool. They will deprave themselves of food, sleep, girls and hip clothing to make music and bring it to other places - music that effortlessly criss-crosses the grid of electronic sub-genres. They have conquered hundreds of flights of stairs, acquired just as many parking tickets, exposed themselves to extreme climates and inhaled thousands of second hand smokes. They are the vermin that can't be squished - after the bomb there will only be the roaches and K-rad.
